Visitor Watching

Sources with descriptions of interaction between Haverford men and Bryn Mawr women in the 1940s. The 1948 issue of Counterpoint, a bi-co literary magazine, included an editorial by William Wister Comfort (who says that he has known all of the presidents of Bryn Mawr) in which he describes the ordeal Haverford men would have to endure if they wanted to pay a visit at a Bryn Mawr dorm. The 1949 yearbook included a drawing of a young man doing just that- he waits in a parlor while several Bryn Mawr women walk by and inspect him.
